Dateline

I am overwhelmed with joy by the responses I've received so far from people who watched Dateline over the weekend.  I've been fielding phone calls and emails, but later today I'll make some time to post about my thoughts on the piece.

More than anything, I am delighted that my grandfather's story is getting out to the masses.  GO BOOKER WRIGHT!!!!

  1. I am anxiously waiting to see the story of Booker Wright. I have Mississippi roots, lived in the Delta for two years in my early teaching career, actually dined at Lusco's, and now teach in Phoenix. I can only imagine what that time must have been like for your grandfather, and I hope that many people are open to his story and acknowledging how far we've come and how far we've still to go. Thank you for sharing with us.

  2. I am so happy this grand daughter found her roots. and was able to get dateline to let us know about this history. I am a historian who found a family secret, that is still surprising to me, and I hope to have my story on dateline. I am looking for an agent to help me. I look forward to seeing more of Booker Wright's story.
